The Fiddle-Maker:
Jim MacCleave Born in Fort Ellis, James "Jim" MacCleave earned a teaching certificate and came to Oxford in the 1950s to teach mathematics. While his teaching left its mark, he would become known for his public service, as a volunteer in the community, as a Town Councillor, but perhaps above all as a skilled fiddle-maker.

Weekly meetups!
Members of the OHS Executive and general members meet each Tuesday at the Oxford Seniors' Club for coffee / tea and informal chat. We talk about current matters of interest, update one another on event planning, and work to engage the public to further our mission to preserve Oxford's history. Drop by, drop a toonie in the jar, and enjoy refreshments and sweets. We hope to see you there! Oxford Senior's Club • 31 Ellis St., Oxford, Nova Scotia.
